What a Hoot!

Last weekend we celebrated Ava's 1st birthday with a party for her at the house. Nonna Sherrie, Granny and Grandpa all came in town to help us celebrate our beautiful baby.  Ava had tons of little friends show up to party with her.  She is definitely loved by everyone in her life...and a little spoiled too.

Grandpa helped Chris put up the decorations outside while Granny and Nonna helped me prepare all of the food for the party.  Of course I chose to have an owl theme for her party. We had everything from owl cupcakes, owl cookies,  an owl piñata (I might be slightly obsessed).  And you can't have a 1 year old birthday party without a smash cake.  I made Ava's smash cake to look like a giant cupcake and she just loved it.  She was so excited she almost didn't let us finish singing to her.  She dove right in and had frosting from head to toe.  Ava was so generous with her cake, she wanted to share it with anyone who walked past.  I have never seen her happier and that is such a wonderful feeling as a mommy.
