I've been in the mood for some homemade bread so yesterday Ava and I baked a blueberry yogurt loaf with lemon glaze and some cranberry orange loaves.
This was the first time Ava has helped me in the kitchen and I was a little nervous about the potential mess she could make. But if you know my baking habits honestly how much worse could it get.
First she helped me measure out the dry ingredients and pour those into a bowl. That part did get a little messy. Next we broke the eggs. That too was a little messy.
Ava had fun mixing all of the ingredients together.
She was cracking me up while dropping in the blueberries. Apparently you can't just drop them in, instead you have to put your entire hand in the dough until you reach the bottom of the bowl and then let go. Good thing this was just for us to eat.
Licking the whisk at the end was of course Ava's favorite part of baking with mommy. I can't lie, it's my favorite part also.
Here is our finished blueberry yogurt loaf. The center caved in a little bit but it tasted delicious!
