Last week, Ava and I took a spontaneous trip to Colorado to visit Mimi and PopPop. Mimi and PopPop were so excited to see us! We had a fun and relaxing week. Mimi was a great big help with Ava which was great because I've been so exhausted.
One morning we took Ava to the Denver Aquarium. I had heard from a friend that they had remodeled the aquarium and it was pretty amazing. What I was really excited about was the mermaids...yes, I said mermaids!! Ava enjoyed the show almost as much as I did. We had to watch it twice because it was so amazing. These girls had no air tanks. They talked under water and did all sorts of routines. After the show, we walked to another tank where they swam to "Under the Sea" from The Little Mermaid and Ava had a front row seat. She was so excited when they blew her kisses and placed their hands on hers. She would turn around and tell me "kisses, kisses" with the biggest smile on her face.
The aquarium had so much to see and do but Ava really enjoyed the touch tank and surprisingly, the sharks. Luckily, Ava decided not to throw the starfish like she did when we were in Key West.
The shark tank had glass holes on the floor and Ava loved dancing for the sharks. She also had a lot of fun running up to the tank when a shark was coming to tell it hi. She is such a funny little girl!
After a long day at the aquarium we were all hungry so we decided to grab a bite to eat at the aquarium restaurant. In the restaurant they had the second largest tank at the aquarium. We sat next to the tank and enjoyed the fish as we ate our delicious lunch. Of course lunch is never complete without dessert after. When our waiter brought over the dessert tray, Ava told him she wanted the one with the shark on it. So Ava got what she wanted...and I think she really enjoyed it!! Mimi and I had to fight her for a bite.
