1st Day of Preschool

This year we decided to enroll Ava in a preschool class.  After looking at a few different ones around town we chose Kids Express at Hoffmantown Church.  It was the most convenient (right down the street from our house), and it was 4 hours instead of the average 3 so Ava eats lunch at school.  Since Ava is so resistant when it comes to eating we thought it would be a good idea if she saw other kids eating.  We found a great book about preschool at the library and started reading it to her before bed so she would have an idea of what to expect.  I'm so glad we did this because she got really excited to go to school.

I picked out some cute fabric to make her a "1st day of school" dress and she picked out the pattern she wanted.  It turned out so cute.  We took her shopping for her school supplies and had her pick out her backpack.  She wanted the Minnie Mouse bag and it just so happened we already had a Minnie Mouse lunch bag.  The week before school started we went to meet her teachers and check out her class room.  This year she has Mrs. Mary and Miss Clarice.

Her first day of school was Tuesday August 19th.  When I woke up in the morning she was excited to get dressed in her new school dress.  As we pulled up to school she yelled, "Look Bubbies it's my school".

She was a little teary eyed when it came time for me to drop her off but I'm sure not as bad as I was.  I held my tears in all the way until I got to the door and then out came the water works.  Thankfully a dear friend was also dropping off her daughter and she let me cry on her shoulder for a few minutes.  I can not believe our little girl has grown up so much.

When I went to pick her up Mrs. Mary said she did great and had a lot of fun.  When Ava saw me in the doorway she ran up and gave me the biggest hug I've ever received.  On our way home Ava was such a chatterbox.  She told me all about her day.  They painted pictures and went outside (her favorite was the slide).  Her best friend that day was Ayva.  I think this is really going to be a great year for her.
