Ava has been asking us for some time now if we would take her horse back riding. A friend of mine boards her horse at a barn in town and invited us to come riding with them one morning. All that morning, Ava could not stop talking about where she was going.
When we got to the barn Ava was instantly in love. She pointed out all of her favorite horses and wanted to ride all of them. Diana and Ann were waiting for us by their horse with a few carrots for Ava to give Sugar. Ava didn't like the feel of Sugar's tongue on her hand when she tried to give her the carrot but didn't mind Sugar nuzzling up to thank her.
Next we walked Sugar to the stables and brushed her. Ava loved brushing her and feeling her soft hair.
After a good brushing, we saddling Sugar up and Ava got on. My friend Courtney lead her around the ring for a little bit to give Ava some experience on top of a horse. Ava's facial expression never changes but once we were done and heading home Ava couldn't stop talking about how much fun she had and how much she wants to go again.
