Ava's class was having a Christmas party before winter break and the teachers were looking for some volunteers. Ava asked if we could volunteer to bring in homemade cookies and of course I said yes. I love spending time with her in the kitchen and now Dean is starting to join us also which makes it even more special.
I already planned on making cookies for Dean's birthday and as gifts for our neighbors so what was an extra dozen anyways. Although these pictures look like they are helping me tremendously please don't be fooled. Every time they rolled out the dough they tried eating half of it instead of using it. (They both ended up with my sweet tooth.)
We took two days to make all of our holiday treats. Day one we baked the cookies and day two Ava helped frost them. I made a plate of twelve cookies for her (that she picked out) to take to school and she frosted every single one all by herself. She was so proud of them! I couldn't believe how patient she was as she decorated each one to perfection. The next morning when we took them to school she was so excited to show them to Mrs. Rigsby and Mrs. Olsen.
