Other then it being so hot, we chose the perfect time to come. The day after Labor Day and most people are back to school so it was relatively quiet.
I think Aunt Candi and Uncle Nick were just as excited for this trip as we were. Candi was so sweet to write a note on the ground just before boarding the ferry to the Magic Kingdom.
Our first stop was Space Mountain but unfortunately it was closed for renovation. So we headed over to the tea cups. On our way we ran into the rabbit from Alice and Wonderland. Ava kept wanting to touch his glasses.
She loved the Tea cups and it being on of the few rides I could ride I did also.
Next stop, Pooh's house. Before getting on the ride we stopped in to take a look at his house. Ava loved all the honey pots and kept telling us "Pooh Bear, Pooh Bear."
The ride was a cute little water ride that took us through The Hundred Acre Woods and told the story of the huge storm that flooded the forest. Ava was so excited to see all the characters as we floated by.
As we were leaving the ride to meet back up with the rest of the group we ran into Pooh and Tiger. Ava was so excited to meet them. She ran with open arms to each of them and gave them great big hugs.
One of Ava's favorite rides was the carousel. She told us over and over that she wanted to ride the horses. Luckily there wasn't a long line so we all hopped on our own horse and went for a ride.
As we were walking to lunch we stopped at It's a small world to cool off. 8 minutes of air conditioning in the summer heat of Florida was marvelous.
We had lunch at the Liberty Tree and then enjoyed a nice ice cream treat after. Ava decided she wasn't sharing with mommy and took the entire popsicle for herself. Ava eventually wore herself out from all the excitement and fell asleep as we were walking to splash mountain. It was definitely a very long day for all of us but one of the most fun we've had as a family.
We decided to stay an extra night and head to some of the other parks the following day. We got a room at Shades of Green (a military resort walking distance to Magic Kingdom). It was a beautiful resort and we are looking forward to staying there again with more time to explore next time.
