My sweet Ava,
The second year of your life has come and gone
in the blink of an eye! It feels like just yesterday that we were celebrating
your first birthday.
You blow your daddy and me away every day with
your intelligence. You speak in full sentences and use words that seem pretty
“big” for a two year old. You can clearly express what you want (most of the
time), saying things such as “Mommy, I want to play in playroom, or “I want
milk please.” Of course your pronunciation isn’t perfect, but you still impress
us!
Your memory is sharp as a tack. We recently went
to Disneyworld and met all of the characters. Everyday you talk
about how much you miss Pooh Bear and Tigger. I have a feeling
you’re going to be quite a handful with your smarts and sass.
You can tell us your
colors (sometimes you confuse one color for another when talking about them) and
you know almost all of the animal names. Your favorite color is
yellow. You love all animals, especially your puppies Chloe and
Coco.
You are very cautious and inquisitive. You like
to take toys apart and figure out just how they work. Your little brow furrows
as you concentrate on the task at hand.
You are quite the little
lady. You often ask me to “color fingers or toes” and you love bows
and dresses. You help me get ready and are always interested in my makeup,
lotion, curling iron, and jewelry.
Even though you’re a girly girl through and
through, you love being outside. Whether it’s the water table, kiddie pool,
park, playground, or beach, you can’t get enough.
You are still a great eater. You’ve gotten
pickier when it comes to veggies, but you still eat better than the majority of
your friends. Your favorite foods are turkey dogs, cheese, pizza, avocado,
yogurt, pickles, raspberries, bananas, raisins, ice cream, cookies, crackers,
and of course noodles.
We are in the very
beginning stages of potty training. You feel so proud when you go tinkle
on the potty. You wear Dora the Explorer Pull Ups and get 2 potty treats
(M&M’s) when you are successful. We’ve got a ways to go but we’re in no
rush.
You are so excited about
having a little brother. You love to pull my shirt up and talk to my
belly. You give big kisses to TicTac and tell him, “I heart
you”. When we pass by his room you always tell me, “Dean’s
room.” At bedtime you ask for the New Baby book and love reading
about your new responsibilities as a big sister. You are going to be
a wonderful bid sister and I’m so glad you’ll have each other!
You are full of energy and a very independent
little girl. You are already getting into the Terrible Twos and have your fair
share of fits. We are trying our best to guide you into becoming a
well-mannered child, but it’s work! It’s hard being 2 years old and not getting
what you want at all times. But you are also filled with so much
love. You love to give kisses and hugs, even your stuffed animals
give hugs and kisses. You often tell us, “I heart you”, even without
out us prompting you to. You like to blow strangers kisses when we
are at the grocery store and you are never shy to say hello.
I really can’t say enough about how much you’ve
blessed us. It’s hard to remember life before you. You make us happier than we
ever imagined possible and we know it’s only the beginning.
We love you to the moon and back. We
wish you a very happy 2nd birthday and here’s to many, many more!
All my love,
Mommy
