Easter Egg Hunt

Every year the base puts together an egg hunt and every year it is freezing.  This year was no exception.  The day before the hunt was a beautiful sunny 75 degree day but mother nature had other plans for the egg hunt.  Clouds rolled in and just before the hunt was supposed to start the skies opened up and it poured.  Of course rain in New Mexico almost always is over just as fast as it started but it was still a cold and chilly day.
Unfortunately because of the rain some people felt compelled to just grab eggs before the hunt even began and so when we got there, 5 minutes before start time, it was already over.  Thankfully the Easter Bunny stuck it out and was still there hanging around or we would have had one sad little lady on our hands.  Ava was so excited to meet the Easter Bunny and as a sign of her appreciation she gave him one of the only eggs she found.

We ran into one of Ava's little buddies, Nolan, while we were waiting for the Easter Bunny.  Ava grabbed his hand and started showing him the way.  Aren't they so cute holding hands.
This year I made matching Easter dresses for Ava's friend Eliza and her sister Hattie.  Ava was very excited to wear her dress with Eliza but since the egg hunt was a bust we had to meet them at the Exchange on base for a few pictures.  Eliza was so sweet to give Ava one of her eggs that she was able to pick up before the rain.  They sure are some pretty looking ladies.
