This year was a very special Easter, as it was our first as a family of four.
Ava was very excited to hear the Easter Bunny had come to her house while she was sleeping. We quickly got dressed and headed out front to see what he had left. He had been busy while we were sleeping, there was eggs in the front and back filled with candy and pennies. After we collected all the eggs it was time to see what he left in our baskets. Ava was excited about her knew Playdough ice cream shop and Dean couldn't be more happy about his froggie teether.
Saturday evening we dyed eggs with Ava for the first time and she had a grand 'ole time doing it.
Every year our neighbors, Bepa and Bubba, have a huge potluck in the picnic to celebrate Easter and they have been so gracious to invite us the last 2 years. This year I offered to make the desserts and had a little helper...even though she was more interested in eating the frosting.
We made a bunny butt cake and egg nest sugar cookies. They both turned out really cute and everyone enjoyed them, especially Ava.
The weather was supposed to be another rainy, grey day so instead of having the picnic at the park, we planned to have lunch at Julie's house instead. Of course the forecast was all wrong and it turned out to be a beautiful sunny day.
We enjoyed some delicious food, great company, lots of laughs and another egg hunt.
Ava was a little worn out with all the egg hunts she had the past 2 days but she did thoroughly enjoy cracking confetti eggs on Bepa's head and spraying mommy with silly string.
