Softball, Poker and Road Trips

Chris had his annual softball tournament in Las Vegas a few weeks back and we decided to go as a family.  This was Dean's first road trip and he did wonderful.  This was also Ava's first road trip being potty training and she too did amazing.  We were also lucky to have Auntie DD come along with us.
A nine hour road trip is pretty long for anybody but being cramped in the back seat between these two can make for a longer trip.  Luckily they are so darn adorable.  Ava showed Auntie DD all of her favorite movies and Deano shared his ball and elephant.
Friday afternoon after our long drive, we took the kids to the pool but unfortunately it was a little too windy for Dean to get in so the two of us just watched.  Ava quickly got cold and requested her "Anna dress" and "Anna hair" (Anna is from Frozen in case you don't live with a toddler and have to watch it daily) so we packed up and headed back to the room to get ready for some dinner.

The next morning we accompanied Chris to the fields to cheer him on.  The complex they played at is pretty neat.  It's called Field of Dreams and every field is made to look like a professional field.  Chris played at Yankee stadium for most games we watched.
My dear friend Heidi and her family moved to Las Vegas a few years ago so I was very excited to see them and have them meet Dean.  We haven't seen them since Ava was only 2 months old.  Heidi invited us over Saturday night for dinner and we gladly accepted.  We had such a good time catching up on each other's lives.  Ava loved playing with the kids and asked several times to go back and see them.
Sunday Chris had one game in the morning and then we went to explore The Strip.  Ava loved the dolphins and Lions at The Secret Garden in the Mirage.  After a visit to the Secret Garden we walked to Margaritaville for...yes margaritas and some tasty food.

Monday morning we headed back home.  Ava had to make a few pit stops on the side of the road but no accidents!
