Whenever we go to Mimi and PopPop's it is a must that we see the mermaids. Monday afternoon we picked PopPop up from work and headed to the Denver Aquarium. While we were waiting in line for tickets Ava convinced PopPop that he needed to ride the carousel with her.
One of the first exhibits we came to was the sea otters and Dean was in love!! He couldn't get enough. We probably watched them for about 20 minutes. Every time the otter would come close to the glass Dean got very excited and yelled DAH DAH DAH!! I guess I can see how he'd think they look like a dog.
Every time we come we always find something new to watch. This time it was the shallow waters with white sandy bottoms and filled with the most colorful fish I've seen. Dean really enjoyed it because they were all eye level for him.
While we waited for the mermaid show the kids sat and played with the sting ray and sea turtle through the glass. Dean was mesmerized by the sting rays swimming over his head and Ava loved blowing kisses to the sea turtle through the glass.
The mermaid show this time had 3 mermaids instead of 2 like past shows. Ava was very excited about the new mermaid.
After the show as we were walking through the rest of the aquarium we ran into the mermaids and Ava was able to get her picture taken with them and after it was printed up she took it back over the the mermaids signed her picture for her.
